I thought you might like some advance notice that North America will be treated to a total eclipse of the Moon in the early morning of Tuesday Nov. 8th. It’s also the morning of election day in the US, and some of us will be turning and tossing, worried about the state of democracy and elections in this country. So getting up in the middle of the night might just fit our mood.
I have put together a sheet all about the eclipse, when it will be visible in different time zones, and what to watch for. It is available on line at: http://bit.ly/2022eclipse (which leads to a PDF file on this website but is simple to share as an address.)
The accompanying image is by amateur astronomer and NASA educator Brian Day and is a composite of the stages in such an eclipse.
